The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), led by president and general manager Wick Veloso, has turned over a ₱1 million sponsorship to the Department of Education (DepEd) in support of the 2025 World Teachers’ Day celebration.
The ceremonial turnover was received by NCR schools division superintendent Nanette Losaria on behalf of DepEd. The main event is set for October 6 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, with the theme “Together for Teachers.”
The financial support will help stage the culminating event, which is expected to bring together thousands of educators nationwide in tribute to their vital role in education and nation-building.
GSIS will also set up two engagement booths during the event to promote its programs, including housing options, the GSIS Touch mobile app, and the Ginhawa Loan Bundle. Teachers visiting the booths will receive tokens such as umbrellas, notebooks, and bags.
“Teachers are the heart of our nation’s progress,” Veloso said. “By supporting this celebration, we honor their invaluable service and bring our programs closer to them.”
This year’s sponsorship exceeds last year’s ₱950,000 contribution, reflecting GSIS’s continued commitment to educators and the education sector.
