GSIS adds sectoral experts to board, eyes growth

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has announced the appointment of three new members to its governing board, a move seen to reinforce the agency’s policy direction and operational cohesion.

Joining the board are Gilbert Tan Sadsad, president of the Philippine Public School Teachers Association (PPSTA), and sectoral representatives Enrico Gregorio Molina Trinidad (Banking, Finance, and Investment) and Cenon Cruz Audencial Jr. (Infrastructure). The appointments come amid ongoing efforts to bolster GSIS’s core services and strengthen its long-term financial strategies.

In a statement, the GSIS emphasized that the expanded board will work as a “solid and cohesive team,” with a unified focus on enhancing its Ginhawa programs and safeguarding the welfare of its 2.7 million members and pensioners.

“The extensive experience of our new Trustees will be invaluable as we build on the pension fund’s historic gains,” the statement said.

The GSIS reaffirmed its commitment to prudent fund management and responsive service delivery, assuring stakeholders that the institution remains “stable, secure, and more united than ever.”

Earlier reports have noted that the GSIS continues to post strong financial performance, with recent reforms focused on improving digital services, streamlining claims processing, and expanding member benefits. The latest board appointments are expected to sustain this momentum and ensure policy continuity.
