Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC) has partnered with international money transfer platform Taptap Send to widen remittance options for overseas Filipinos in the U.S., Canada, Europe, the U.K., the UAE, and Australia.
RCBC Transaction Banking Group head Martin Tirol said the collaboration supports the bank’s goal of making financial services more accessible to Filipinos abroad and their families in the Philippines.
Taptap Send operates in major remittance markets, giving RCBC access to new sending corridors and an estimated 500,000 potential new users. The partnership also strengthens RCBC’s remittance infrastructure at a time when digital channels handle about 75 percent of total remittances to the country. Remittance inflows hit a record $38.34 billion last year.
Tirol said overseas Filipinos need “swift, secure and convenient” ways to send money home, and the partnership helps provide these tools.
RCBC, currently the country’s fifth-largest privately owned universal bank, continues to expand its digital services and remittance network as it aims to offer more efficient and customer-focused cross-border banking solutions.
