Malayan Insurance Co., Inc. (MICO) is celebrating 95 years of serving Filipinos, highlighting its mission to support and empower the community. Under the anniversary theme “Love, Malayan,” the company is reinforcing its commitment to giving back to the people who have been part of its success.
“For 95 years, Malayan has been part of the everyday lives of Filipinos,” said MICO president and CEO Paolo Y. Abaya. “Our goal is to put the needs of the Filipino community first and continue building a more resilient future together.”
As part of its anniversary, Malayan Insurance is leading several initiatives, including a special edition of the ASSIST’s Master of Disaster board game to teach youth about disaster preparedness and the value of insurance. The company also hosted the Malayan Charity Cup golf tournament, raising over Php1.3 million for the Sulong Batangas Housing Project to help families affected by Typhoon Kristine.
This year, MICO introduced four new insurance products to meet the evolving needs of Filipinos. MyShield offers affordable personal accident coverage, including protection against dengue and COVID-19. eSecure provides cyber insurance against online threats, while VitalCover helps young professionals and families manage the costs of critical illnesses. Personal Liability Insurance covers accidents, property damage, and legal costs for everyday mishaps.
By combining innovation with social responsibility, Malayan Insurance is celebrating its legacy while preparing to provide Filipinos with protection and peace of mind for the years ahead.
