Brazil’s CLIA Pouso Alegre opens expanded logistics hub, launches Rio–Minas corridor

CLIA Pouso Alegre, a Brazilian unit of International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI), has opened an expanded logistics and industrial center aimed at improving cargo flow between the Port of Rio de Janeiro and Southern Minas Gerais.

The upgraded facility now includes a 30,000-square-meter bonded area, 2,000 square meters of ANVISA-certified refrigerated storage, and a new container depot. The added capacity is expected to help regional companies cut logistics costs and speed up import and export operations.

The launch also marked the debut of the Rio–Minas corridor, a multimodal logistics route designed to boost efficiency and competitiveness for industries in Southern Minas Gerais. The corridor strengthens links to Rio Brasil Terminal (RBT), positioning it as a more reliable alternative to congested ports.

CLIA Pouso Alegre and RBT say the expansion reflects their focus on safety, environmental responsibility, and high technical standards, while offering better connectivity and agility for regional shippers.

Located in southeastern Brazil, CLIA Pouso Alegre serves as a customs-bonded logistics hub connecting local industries to global markets through its direct link to RBT at the Port of Rio de Janeiro. ICTSI, founded in Manila in 1988, operates port terminals across Asia Pacific, the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
