Couchbase launches AI services to help enterprises deploy agentic AI at scale

Couchbase, Inc. has announced the general availability of Couchbase AI Services, a new set of tools designed to help enterprises build, deploy and manage agentic AI applications in production environments.

The company said the new services address common challenges that prevent AI projects from moving beyond pilot stages, including fragmented data systems, security and privacy concerns, and the difficulty of governing AI agents at scale. By combining data management and AI model support in a single platform, Couchbase aims to simplify development while maintaining performance, reliability and control.

According to Couchbase, the platform integrates secure model hosting through NVIDIA AI Enterprise, including NVIDIA NIM microservices and Nemotron models. It supports both structured and unstructured data, with features such as automatic vector creation and search, built-in AI functions, agent memory for context across sessions, and a centralized catalog to track and govern AI agents.

The company said governance and validation are core features, allowing organizations to set guardrails so AI outputs can be checked against enterprise data and business rules before actions are taken. This makes AI decisions traceable, auditable and compliant with internal policies.

Barry Morris, Couchbase’s chief product and strategy officer, said enterprises moving from AI experimentation to real-world deployment need a more robust and repeatable approach. He said the new AI services give developers an end-to-end platform to build secure and reliable AI-powered applications.

Customers and partners welcomed the launch. SWARM Engineering said the platform helps its team focus on solving supply chain problems instead of managing infrastructure. NVIDIA, Arize AI, Unstructured.io and K2view also said the integration with Couchbase supports secure, scalable and production-ready AI systems.

Couchbase AI Services are available now. The company said more information, documentation and developer resources are available through its website.
