The Abu Dhabi Cooperative Society (ADCoop) is moving to scale up the sourcing and distribution of Philippine-made goods across its UAE retail network, underscoring growing trade momentum between Abu Dhabi and Manila.
The initiative was highlighted during a January 13 visit by Philippine Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Cristina Roque to ADCoop’s Abu Dhabi Mall branch. Discussions focused on widening the presence of Filipino products in the UAE, particularly by creating clearer market access for Philippine micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) seeking exposure to Middle Eastern consumers.
Central to the effort is ADCoop’s “Sari Sari Store,” a store-in-store concept developed in partnership with The Hub.
The dedicated retail format provides Philippine brands with premium shelf space within ADCoop outlets, lifting visibility and helping niche products transition into more mainstream retail channels.
ADCoop executives also shared an overview of the cooperative’s retail operations and its ongoing collaboration with Philippine partners, which gained traction in 2025 alongside high-level trade missions and bilateral economic engagements.
The approach reflects a shared objective to convert government-level cooperation into measurable commercial outcomes.
For ADCoop, Philippine products offer differentiation and cultural resonance for a diverse customer base, reinforcing its community-focused retail model.
For Filipino suppliers, ADCoop’s extensive network—spanning supermarkets and hypermarkets across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and other parts of the UAE—presents a strategic entry point into the Gulf market.
As Gulf retailers increasingly seek differentiated international offerings, the planned expansion positions Philippine goods for stronger, more sustained visibility across UAE shelves.
