Megafunalo, the online gaming platform of Bloomberry Resorts Corp. led by billionaire Enrique K. Razon Jr., has launched its own line of Filipino-themed digital arcade games, tapping local culture to attract more players.
The platform partnered with game developer Gioco Arcade to create the titles. Two games were launched on Monday, with two more set to be released later this year.
Megafunalo said the move reflects growing demand for games that feel familiar and culturally relevant, while still meeting international standards for quality and performance.
“Filipino creativity is vibrant, playful, and deeply rooted in everyday life,” said Cyrus Sherafat, executive vice president and head of gaming at Megafunalo. He said the new games aim to give players experiences that feel both exciting and familiar on a licensed and trusted platform.
The first batch of Gioco Arcade games draws inspiration from everyday Filipino life. Jeepney Go is based on the country’s iconic public transport, while Cash Cash Fiesta features bright colors and visuals inspired by local street fairs and celebrations.
Two more titles—Tuktuk Gold and Slice n Go—are expected to be launched soon to add more variety to the collection.
Megafunalo said the initiative highlights local ideas that can also appeal to a wider audience, while supporting homegrown creativity within a regulated gaming environment.
Sherafat said the platform’s user base continues to grow steadily and that the partnership with Gioco Arcade is expected to help attract more players.
“Megafunalo is really positioned for Filipinos,” he said. “Our content is meant for the local market, and Gioco’s game development is also very much focused on Filipino themes and culture.”
With more locally inspired games in the pipeline, Megafunalo is betting that Filipino-themed content can drive growth and strengthen its appeal among domestic players.
