Vivant hands over solar system to Palawan school

Vivant Corp., through its Vivant Foundation, has turned over an 18.7-kilowatt solar power system to Canipo Integrated School in Coron.

The P3.6-million project aims to provide the school with clean and reliable electricity. It was implemented in partnership with Calamian Islands Power Corp. (a Vivant Energy subsidiary) and the Department of Energy’s Palawan Schools Division.

“Projects like this help communities that are beyond the reach of conventional power,” said Eric Omamalin, president of CIPC.

This marks Vivant Foundation’s 14th project in Coron, which has included support such as literacy resource grants since 2015. School officials said the solar system offers students more opportunities to learn and grow.

Vivant also operates power businesses in Northern and mainland Palawan and has a total generation capacity of about 471 megawatts. Beyond energy, the company is involved in retail electricity and water processing.
