Appointed as president and chief executive officer of the Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation effective July 1, 2025, Reginald Anthony “Reggie” Cariaso leads one of the country’s largest universal banks at a time of rapid digital transformation. He succeeded Eugene Acevedo and brings with him nearly three decades of experience across global and domestic banking. As CEO, he is focused on building a more customer-centered, digitally integrated bank—one that goes beyond traditional financial services to deliver seamless, data-driven solutions and long-term value for clients.
Before assuming the top role, Cariaso served as head of RCBC’s operations group and deputy CEO, where he led initiatives to modernize the bank’s systems and improve customer experience. His work included strengthening digital onboarding, enhancing branch and customer care platforms, and driving operational efficiency. He also represents RCBC as a director and treasurer of BancNet.
Prior to joining RCBC in 2023, Cariaso held senior leadership roles at Bank of the Philippine Islands, including senior vice president for BPI Capital Corporation and its Institutional Banking Group. His earlier career was shaped on the global stage, serving as executive director at J.P. Morgan and Nomura International in Hong Kong, where he built deep expertise in capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate finance.
Cariaso’s professional journey is marked by a distinctive foundation of discipline and analytical rigor. He began his career as a chemist and served honorably for six years as a lieutenant in the United States Navy Submarine Force, experiences that shaped his leadership style and strategic thinking.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania.
