ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) Philippines has launched DC Power-Up 2.0, a training and certification program aimed at preparing Filipinos for jobs in the growing data center industry.
The second run of the program trained 27 students—double the number from the first batch—through a three-day course. Participants received free access to the Data Centre Foundation Certificate (DCFC), an internationally recognized credential covering basic data center operations. All participants passed the certification exam, and top graduates were offered jobs.
DC Power-Up has also gained international attention, earning a nomination for the DCD Workforce Initiative of the Year Award.
Beyond technical skills, the program aims to expand the local talent pool and improve diversity. The latest batch showed better gender representation compared to the first.
The training is delivered in partnership with EPI Group, a global provider of data center certification programs, to ensure it meets international standards.
STT GDC Philippines said the initiative reflects its commitment to developing local talent as the country’s digital infrastructure sector continues to grow.
