Nestlé PH, Robinsons Supermarket launch sachet recycling initiative

Nestlé Philippines and Robinsons Supermarket have partnered to install 10 reverse vending machines, or Smart Eco-llection Bins (SEBs), in select Metro Manila branches to collect and recycle sachets. Supported by Restore Solutions PH and Robinsons Malls, the collected sachets will be turned into durable boards for making furniture.

This effort supports circular economy goals and helps meet extended producer responsibility requirements—with Nestlé already compliant two years before the EPR Act took effect in 2022. Consumers earn redeemable points by depositing clean, dry sachets, with extra rewards for Nestlé packs. The program starts at four branches, with plans to expand nationwide and build a wider collection network for hard-to-recycle plastics. It marks a key step in turning waste into value while encouraging responsible habits among shoppers.
