DigiPlus ESG push prepares for tighter rules

DigiPlus Interactive Corp. has released its 2025 Integrated Report, laying the groundwork for compliance with stricter sustainability disclosure requirements ahead of the 2026 reporting cycle.

The company behind BingoPlus, ArenaPlus, and GameZone said the report establishes a baseline for its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance while embedding sustainability more deeply into its long-term strategy and corporate governance framework.

Approved by the board and the Corporate Governance Committee, the report aligns DigiPlus with the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Memorandum Circular No. 16, which requires listed companies to adopt Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) S1 and S2.

The move reflects a broader shift among Philippine firms toward integrating sustainability metrics into enterprise planning, risk management, and investor disclosures.

Under the theme “Fun that grows with you,” DigiPlus detailed how it is integrating ESG principles across its online and land-based gaming operations through governance reforms, climate risk management, responsible gaming initiatives, and workforce development programs.

The company also adopted globally recognized reporting standards, including the Integrated Reporting Framework, Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), and the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard.

Among the report’s key disclosures were baseline data on energy consumption and Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas emissions, alongside climate scenario analysis and transition risk assessments aimed at strengthening business resilience.

DigiPlus said the report also underscored its economic contributions through job generation, digital payment expansion, and community initiatives under the DigiPlus Foundation, while reinforcing responsible gaming safeguards and customer protection measures.
