VinFast is positioning its seven-seater VinFast Limo Green as a practical income-generating vehicle for Filipino ride-hailing drivers, as rising fuel prices and lower EV operating costs reshape transport economics in the Philippines.
The Vietnamese automaker said the Limo Green is gaining interest among transport network vehicle service (TNVS) drivers seeking a vehicle that can serve both commercial and family needs.
For Quezon-based ride-hailing driver Paul Simbulan, the electric MPV has become what he describes as a “two-in-one” vehicle — doubling as a family car and a daily source of income.
Simbulan said the vehicle’s spacious seven-seat configuration, quiet cabin, and driving range of up to 450 kilometers per charge make it suitable for airport transfers, group rides, and long-distance trips. Its fast-charging capability, which can replenish the battery in around 30 minutes, also helps drivers maximize operating hours.
But the vehicle’s strongest appeal may be lower operating expenses.
VinFast said one user traveled nearly 2,900 kilometers across Luzon while spending only around P1,900 on charging costs. The company is also offering free charging support at V-Green stations through March 2029, helping drivers reduce day-to-day transport expenses.
To widen adoption, VinFast recently launched its Green vehicle rental program in the Philippines, allowing drivers to rent EV units starting at P1,000 per day instead of purchasing vehicles outright.
The initiative reflects growing interest in electric vehicles not just as personal transport, but as practical business tools for Filipino drivers looking to boost take-home earnings amid volatile fuel prices and rising transport costs.
