BPI marks 175th year with #BestLifeRun 2026, drawing over 10,000 participants

The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) on Sunday held its #BestLifeRun 2026 Corporate Race along Ayala Avenue, Makati City, gathering more than 10,000 runners from over 200 companies and 50 running clubs. The event forms part of the bank’s 175th anniversary celebrations, highlighting its commitment to supporting Filipinos not just through financial services, but also through health, well-being, and community initiatives.

Now in its third year, the race began in 2023 as an internal activity and has grown into a broad gathering of employees, fitness enthusiasts, and community members. Proceeds from this year’s run, managed through the BPI Foundation, will fund livelihood programs for fisherfolk in Sapian, Capiz, continuing the event’s tradition of social impact beyond sports.

Participants competed in 3KM, 5KM, 10KM, and 21KM categories, receiving race kits and timing chips; finishers earned commemorative shirts and medals. BPI chief human resources officer Gina Eala noted the event shows how wellness connects people and strengthens communities, adding that growing participation reflects more organizations valuing employee well-being.

The success of #BestLifeRun 2026 was supported by a wide range of sponsors across gold, silver, bronze, product, and prize categories. Led by BPI president and CEO TG Limcaoco, bank executives joined the activity, underscoring that the race embodies BPI’s goal to create meaningful, positive change that goes beyond banking services.
