URC earns top honors from leading Hong Kong retailers PARKnSHOP and 7-Eleven

Universal Robina Corporation has secured key recognitions from two of Hong Kong’s biggest retail chains, PARKnSHOP and 7-Eleven, marking a major step forward in the company’s international expansion and localization efforts. The latest awards came from the annual PARKnSHOP Super Brands Awards, where URC’s International Trading Operations team took home both the Outstanding Marketing Award and the Exclusive Co-Brand Award. These honors are given to brands that show strong market results, connect well with consumers, and grow together with Hong Kong’s largest supermarket network.

URC received the awards after rolling out products and campaigns made specifically for the Hong Kong market. These included two PARKnSHOP-exclusive potato chip flavors, Sour Cream & Onion and Black Truffle, as well as the local launch of Jack ’n Jill Tomato Crunchies. Karen Ong, URC Chief Marketing Officer, said these awards confirm the company’s focus on adapting to each market and moving quickly to meet local needs. She added that winning recognition from both supermarkets and convenience stores shows their focus on consumers works well in Hong Kong, and that they aim to create products and experiences suited to local tastes rather than just bringing in items from abroad.

Earlier this year, the Jack ’n Jill brand in Hong Kong also won the Outstanding Sales Performance Award in the Potato Chips and Snack category at the 7-Eleven Top Brand Campaign Awards. Attlee Lau, Commercial Manager, and Kevin Chan, Assistant Key Accounts Manager of URC Hong Kong, accepted the awards at both events. Ong noted that these dual wins show how important close ties with major retailers are, especially in competitive markets like Hong Kong. She explained that working closely with partners such as PARKnSHOP and 7-Eleven helps both sides grow sales and keep URC’s product line relevant to daily shoppers.

These 2026 awards add to URC’s long history in Hong Kong, which began in 1971 with the launch of Jack ’n Jill Potato Chips. Over the years, the company has expanded its offerings in the region to include well-known brands like Beef Crunchies, Roller Coaster, Dewberry, and Magic Flakes. Moving forward, URC plans to keep growing its presence across the region through new product ideas and stronger partnerships with retailers.
