TransCo, IEMOP sign deal to manage RE incentive funds

State-run National Transmission Corp. (TransCo) and the Independent Electricity Market Operator of the Philippines (IEMOP) have signed an agreement formalizing how funds for renewable energy incentives are collected and handled. The deal sets clear procedures for gathering proceeds from the wholesale electricity market and confirms TransCo’s role as administrator of both the Feed-in-Tariff Allowance and Green Energy Auction Allowance funds. Both charges are passed on to all power users and may be adjusted yearly based on changes in eligible renewable capacity. The agreement also aligns with market rules, improves data sharing, and aims to ensure transparency and proper implementation of the country’s clean energy policies.
