ACEN Corporation is developing Zambales into one of the country’s largest renewable energy hubs, with nearly one gigawatt of solar and battery storage capacity. Once fully operational, these projects will generate enough clean power for 340,000 households and cut fossil fuel dependence. Around 450 megawatts are already running, with the rest set to be finished by 2027, alongside new battery systems to ensure steady power supply and grid stability.
Beyond energy production, ACEN has built new transmission lines, roads and bridges, while about 80 percent of its workforce comes from local communities including the Ayta Indigenous Peoples group. The projects will cut carbon emissions by an estimated 800,000 tonnes yearly. As part of its wider goals, the Ayala Group firm targets 20,000 megawatts of renewable capacity globally by 2030 and net zero emissions by 2050.
