GSIS opens emergency loans for Maymay, Habagat victims

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) will offer emergency loans to members and pensioners affected by Tropical Storm Maymay and enhanced Habagat rains, once affected areas are placed under a state of calamity.

Eligible applicants without existing loans may borrow up to ₱20,000, while those with active balances may get up to ₱40,000 to settle old loans and receive any remaining amount. Qualified members must live or work in declared zones, be in active service, have no pending cases, have paid premiums in the past six months, and keep net pay of at least ₱5,000 after deductions. Pensioners must retain at least 25 percent of their basic monthly pension post-deduction. Loans carry 6 percent annual interest and are payable in three years. Applications may be submitted anytime, anywhere via the GSIS Touch mobile app.
