The National Dairy Authority (NDA) and Central Philippines State University (CPSU) have partnered to develop a 50-hectare dairy stock farm in Barangay Camingawan here, aiming to strengthen production, breeding, research and training across the Negros Island Region.
The agreement, formalized Wednesday, grants NDA 25-year usufruct rights over the university-owned land—renewable for another 25 years as long as it is used for dairy development—while CPSU retains full ownership of the property.
The project will establish a dairy stock farm and feed center designed to house 150 dairy cows, produce around 75 young female cattle (heifers) per cycle, and yield an estimated 640,000 liters of milk annually. It will feature cattle sheds, a milking parlor, feed storage, quarantine zones, waste management systems, forage areas and research facilities focused on genetic improvement and farm management.
Beyond production, the site will serve as a hands-on learning hub for students, local farmers and industry stakeholders. It will offer training venues, technology demonstrations and academic resources to advance dairy farming practices aligned with Good Agricultural Production standards.
Officials said the collaboration will strengthen the regional dairy value chain, promote the facility as a model for education and extension services, and support local economic growth through sustainable agricultural corridors.
“This partnership shows how government and academe can work together to move our dairy industry forward,” said NDA administrator Marcus Antonius Andaya. “This is not just a farm—it is where research, training and actual production come together. It also supports our vision to have one stock farm in every region nationwide.”
Citing NDA data, the Negros Island Region produced 1.12 million liters of milk in the first half of 2026—up 8.11 percent from 2025 and accounting for 4.43 percent of the country’s total output. The new facility is seen as a key driver to expand this upward trend, build local capacity and reduce reliance on external supplies.
