ACCIONA and Aboitiz Construction Inc. are forming a joint venture to build a nationwide integrated facilities management platform, marking Aboitiz Construction’s expansion beyond engineering and construction into recurring asset-management services.
The new ACCIONA Facility Management Philippines will combine the Spanish infrastructure group’s global facilities-management expertise with Aboitiz Construction’s local footprint and five decades of engineering experience.
The venture will provide maintenance and technical services, business process outsourcing, logistics, cleaning, housekeeping and other support services to high-value sectors including pharmaceuticals, industrial facilities, corporate properties and transport infrastructure.
The partnership gives ACCIONA a local platform to expand its facilities-management business while allowing Aboitiz Construction to tap demand for specialized services as industrial and infrastructure assets become more complex.
“Partnering with ACCIONA combines our strong local presence and 50 years of engineering experience with global expertise in integrated facilities management to deliver world-class solutions in the Philippines,” Aboitiz Construction President and Chairman Anton Mari Perdices said.
ACCIONA Southeast Asia Infrastructure Managing Director Ruben Camba described the Philippines as a strategic market and an important Asian hub for the company, with the partnership providing a platform for long-term growth.
The companies plan to use lean operating methods, digital tools and technology to improve efficiency and service quality across facilities.
The joint venture also plans to scale its operations nationwide as companies increasingly seek integrated solutions covering the day-to-day operation, maintenance and management of critical assets.
For Aboitiz Construction, the move creates a new service line that can generate revenue beyond project-based construction work. For ACCIONA, it expands its Philippine footprint in a segment tied to the long-term operation of industrial and infrastructure assets.
The venture expects the expansion to create skilled jobs and support the development of local facilities-management talent.
