The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) commended nine outstanding institutional partners across the Visayas during the 2026 Outstanding BSP Stakeholders Appreciation Ceremony held in Cebu City on September 14, 2026. These awardees were recognized for their vital roles in supporting secure and efficient currency circulation, broadening access to financial services, championing financial literacy and digital payments, and driving greater financial inclusion throughout the region.
Monetary Board Member Walter C. Wassmer expressed deep gratitude for the partners’ collective efforts, noting their impact on local communities. “We are grateful for the work you do with us, and what you do for Filipinos in your hometowns. With your support, we can better protect consumers, combat financial fraud, and strengthen public trust in our financial system,” he stated. BSP Deputy Governor Bernadette Romulo-Puyat also highlighted their contribution to building a stronger financial system. “You are helping shape a financial system that is more inclusive, more resilient, and more responsive to the needs of our kababayans. More importantly, you are helping prepare Filipinos to navigate the future with greater knowledge and confidence,” she added.
Established in 2004, the annual Outstanding BSP Stakeholders Appreciation Ceremony recognizes institutions that have made significant contributions to advancing the BSP’s core mandates and key advocacies. This year’s recognized partners in the Visayas include BSP-supervised financial institutions such as Land Bank of the Philippines – Cebu Osmeña Branch, Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company – Cebu CMSU, Land Bank of the Philippines – Cash Operations Unit – Bacolod, Land Bank of the Philippines – Dumaguete Branch, Land Bank of the Philippines – Cash Operations Unit – Iloilo, Land Bank of the Philippines – Roxas Branch, Land Bank of the Philippines – Tacloban Branch, BDO Network Bank – Iloilo Robinsons Branch, and private sector partner Perpetual Help Community Cooperative.
This event marks the fourth leg of the annual recognition program, following earlier ceremonies honoring partners from Metro Manila, North Luzon, and South Luzon. A similar appreciation ceremony will be conducted for outstanding partners in Mindanao later this month.
