Security Bank Foundation Inc. (SBFI) received two honors at the 22nd Philippine Quill Awards for programs addressing classroom shortages and access to vision care among public school students.
The foundation’s Bayanihan Para sa Silid-Aralan program received an Award of Excellence, while its Security Better Future through Eyes (SBF-Eyes) initiative earned an Award of Merit at the Aug. 27 ceremony at Solaire Resort Entertainment City in Parañaque City.
Bayanihan Para sa Silid-Aralan was recognized for its collaborative approach to expanding classroom infrastructure. The program brings together Security Bank clients and employees, local government units, non-government organizations, and other partners to pool resources for classroom construction.
SBF-Eyes, meanwhile, focuses on improving access to basic eye care for public school students. Implemented with Ideal Vision Center, the initiative provides free vision screenings and prescription eyeglasses to students identified as needing corrective lenses.
“These recognitions reflect the power of purpose, partnership, and collective action,” SBFI Chairman Rafael F. Simpao Jr. said.
“We share these awards with our employees, partners, and beneficiaries whose support and commitment continue to create meaningful change in communities across the country,” he added.
The Philippine Quill Awards, organized annually by the International Association of Business Communicators Philippines, recognizes excellence in business communication and corporate communications programs.
Entries are evaluated against IABC standards, with emphasis on strategy, execution, and results.
The twin awards highlight how DBFI’s education-focused initiatives combine corporate resources with community partnerships to address practical barriers to learning, from inadequate classroom facilities to uncorrected vision problems.
