Vivant Energy retail electricity supply arm COREnergy has signed a power supply agreement with DEDON Manufacturing, Inc., the Philippine production hub of one of the world’s top luxury outdoor furniture brands.
Announced Monday, the two-year deal covers a contracted capacity of 0.55 megawatts and marks DEDON as the first business to take up COREnergy’s new Sunshine Plan—an innovative electricity solution that pairs stable daytime rates backed by solar power with flexible market pricing during off-peak hours. The plan is designed to match energy costs to a company’s actual operating schedule, and with DEDON running mainly during daylight hours, it stands to see both better cost control and progress toward its sustainability goals.
By matching its energy setup to its daily workflow, the manufacturer can better manage one of its biggest regular expenses while moving forward on greener operations. Rosy Grace Cabradilla, DEDON general director, noted that the plan fits their operating style perfectly and supports their sustainability work, adding they are proud to be the first to use it and look forward to deepening their partnership. COREnergy vice president and operations head Marko Sarmiento said DEDON’s choice shows strong promise for the product, which was built specifically for businesses that operate mostly in the daytime, and they aim to bring these same benefits to more manufacturing clients soon. Based in Cebu, DEDON makes signature materials and handcrafted furniture shipped to luxury residences, hotels, resorts, yachts and destinations across more than 100 countries, with its local facility remaining central to its worldwide operations.
