Manila Water is calling on customers to join its October desludging schedule, advancing responsible wastewater management, community health, and cleaner local waterways. Regular septic tank maintenance keeps untreated waste out of drains, creeks, and rivers—stopping pollution at its source.
As urban areas grow, proper sanitation becomes ever more critical to public health and environmental protection. Desludging removes accumulated sludge, ensuring waste is properly handled and preventing contamination of communities and water bodies.
This month, teams deploy across Antipolo City (Bagong Nayon, Sta. Cruz, San Luis); Rizal (Baras, Jala-Jala); Cainta (San Andres, San Isidro A); Taytay (Santa Ana); Rodriguez (Geronimo, San Rafael); San Mateo (Dulong Bayan 1 & 2, Santa Ana, Guitnang Bayan I, Gulod Malaya); Binangonan (Pag-asa); Pasig (Pinagbuhatan); plus select areas in Quezon City (Holy Spirit) and San Juan (Salapan, Pasadena, Pedro Cruz).
The effort follows Manila Water’s September participation in DENR’s International Coastal Cleanup at Manila Bay. Staff joined volunteer cleanup crews, yet the company emphasizes: stopping pollution early matters most.
“Coastal cleanups remove existing waste; preventive desludging stops it before it starts. Regular care makes customers partners in protecting our waters for future generations,” said Dittie Galang, Manila Water Corporate Communications Group Head.
Manila Water works with barangays to promote service every 5–7 years—keeping systems reliable, waterways clean, and communities healthy.
