Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Henry Aguda reaffirmed his commitment to his post on Wednesday, saying that he remains focused on executing his official duties despite lingering reports about his supposed resignation.
In an official statement addressing the rumors, Aguda refrained from explicitly confirming or denying any resignation, opting instead to stress the necessity of operational continuity within the agency. He noted that as Cabinet Secretary, he serves at the pleasure of the President and fully respects executive prerogative regarding Cabinet appointments.
The ICT chief emphasized the policy significance of maintaining steady leadership at this time, particularly as the Philippines hosts the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) meetings this year. Pointing to events like this week’s ASEAN AI MSME conference, Aguda underscored that the department must remain steadfast in driving regional advancement in technology and innovation without administrative disruption.
Maintaining that his primary focus is public service and the department’s ongoing mandates, Aguda assured that operations will continue seamlessly under his supervision.
