Globe has brought digital safety education to tourism workers and students here through its Digital Thumbprint Program, equipping the community with practical skills as the local tourism industry grows more digitally dependent.
Sessions covered cybersecurity, fraud protection, digital etiquette and responsible online behavior—key safeguards as resorts and workers increasingly use digital channels for reservations, payments and guest communications. Training was held with employees of Lime Resort El Nido, Isla Amara Boutique Resort and H Hospitality Group Inc., plus 50 Hotel Management students at Western Philippines University–El Nido, and over 1,000 students at Barotuan National High School. Globe also met with the El Nido municipal government to strengthen community-wide digital safety efforts.
“As El Nido grows, we want our community prepared for digital risks. Helping workers and youth stay safe online matters greatly. We thank Globe for bringing these lessons closer,” said Municipal Administrator Nicole Lim Gabarra.
“Digital safety is a vital life skill. Through this program, we share practical knowledge people can use daily to stay safe online and become responsible digital citizens,” said Globe South Luzon General Manager Adonis Evangelista.
Since 2016, the Digital Thumbprint Program has reached more than two million students and educators nationwide and is integrated into the Department of Education’s K to 12 curriculum. Globe continues working with schools, local governments and communities to expand its reach.
