    The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has turned over 11 units of backhoes-on-barge to local government units (LGUs) for use in the continuing effort to clean up rivers and waterways flowing out to the Manila Bay under a project costing P491.46 million

    DENR converting abandoned fishpond areas into mangrove forests

    The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has ordered the immediate assessment of abandoned, undeveloped and underutilized (AUU) fishpond areas in Bicol, Western Visayas and the Zamboanga Peninsula and to repurpose them as mangroves as defense against flooding and extreme weather events and in boosting climate action.
