Dominion Holdings lifts profit on UITF investments

Dominion Holdings Inc., formerly BDO Leasing & Finance, Inc., on Friday reported net income last year stood at P69.3 million, up 59 percent from P43.5 million in 2021.

Gross income more than doubled to P126.8 million from P57.1 million, boosted by gains on its unit investment trust fund investment. The company shifted its funds to higher yielding short-term time deposits to take advantage of rising interest rates.

Dominion in 2022 secured approval from its board, shareholders and the Securities and Exchange Commission to change its name and shift its business focus to that of an investment holding company from leasing and financing to enhance shareholder value.
