CLI opens third hotel in Cebu

The Ascott-operated lyf Hotel by Cebu Landmasters Inc. on Tuesday opened its third hotel in the city.

The hotel is located at CLI’s Base Line Center in mid-town Cebu near the Fuente Osmeña Circle, a key venue of the Sinulog Festival held each January. The 159-room hotel caters to young and dynamic travelers.

“We are excited by the opening of lyf Cebu City that offers young travelers an exciting blend of modern accommodations and a dynamic environment unmatched in Cebu. CLI’s hotel portfolio is growing and we are happy to offer a unique experience to the Visayas and Mindanao’s growing tourism market,” Mathias Bergundthal, CLI hotels and resorts director, said.

The new hotel serves as the first lyf property in the region and the second in the Philippines. Its opening brings CLI’s hotel count to three following the launch of The Pad Co-Living last month with 258 rooms and Citadines Cebu City in 2019 with 180 rooms.

This strengthens CLI’s hospitality business which has partnered with such international hotel operators as Radisson and Accor and with local players like the Abaca Group.

The new lyf Cebu City hotel gives CLI 10 projects under its hospitality portfolio.
Two more hotel projects are under development in Bacolod City scheduled to begin operations towards yearend.

CLI has reported nine-month income rising 28 percent to P3 billion in 2023 from the P2.4 billion in the same period the previous year.
