Panasonic Manufacturing Philippines Corp., the locally-listed unit of Japan’s Panasonic Holdings Corp., said Tuesday it has resumed electric fan production at its facility in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, which was damaged by fire in December.
Panasonic said its manufacturing line for washing machines, which was also gutted by fire, will resume production next month.
It said sales of electric fans should resume in March while washing machine sales will begin in April.
On December 13, fire engulfed and completely destroyed the electric fan and washing machine factory of Panasonic. No lives were lost.
The appliance manufacturer transferred its electric fan and washing machine production at its 21-hectare property in Sta. Rosa from Taytay, Rizal in April 2019 in anticipation of increased demand. Panasonic also produces refrigerators, air conditioners, freezers, cooling equipment, and other kitchen and home appliances.
