Globe restores services in 7 provinces after ‘Kristine’

Globe has successfully restored telecommunications services in seven provinces affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine, with ongoing efforts in other areas.

As of 9 a.m. on Thursday, 24 October, services have been fully reinstated in Camarines Norte, Oriental Mindoro, Biliran, Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, Samar, and Southern Leyte.

Restoration is nearing completion in Occidental Mindoro, Romblon, Albay, Sorsogon, and Leyte, with ground crews now working in Southern Luzon. “We are glad to report that several sites affected by power outages due to Kristine are back up 100 percent,” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe chief sustainability and corporate communications officer.

In addition to service restoration, Globe has deployed Libreng Tawag, Libreng Charging, and Libreng WiFi stations to support communication needs in severely hit areas, including a booth set up in Cebu City. Customers are encouraged to donate Globe Rewards points for relief efforts via the GlobeOne app.
