Maxim rolls out emergency contact tool for drivers

Maxim Rides & Food Delivery has rolled out a new feature letting driver-partners add emergency contacts within the app, offering them another reliable way to call for help. Drivers can select trusted people who will be alerted if an emergency arises.

Once added, designated contacts receive an SOS notification whenever the driver requests assistance. The message includes a direct link to the driver’s real-time location, so loved ones can see exactly where they are and act quickly.

This tool gives drivers a straightforward way to alert someone they trust while on duty. Sharing location with pre-chosen contacts makes it easier for family or friends to respond or coordinate aid.

The feature joins Maxim’s existing in-app safety system. Drivers can still use SOS to reach official emergency services or alert nearby partners, and a dedicated emergency driver support group monitors signals and responds to incidents. All these safety tools are backed by Maxim’s customer support, which prioritizes security-related requests using AI to flag urgent concerns and speed up response times.

“Driver-partner safety remains central to improving our platform experience,” said Andres Morales Jr., President of Maxim Rides & Food Delivery. “Emergency contacts give drivers another fast way to notify trusted people and share their location—working alongside our existing SOS and support features to add an extra layer of protection when it counts.”
