The New NAIA Infra Corporation (NNIC) is partnering with the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) and other essential stakeholders to ensure a smooth travel experience during the upcoming Undas holiday. This collaboration focuses on enhancing security, passenger assistance, and traffic management at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
To effectively manage the expected surge in passenger movement, the NNIC is enhancing coordination among airport stakeholders and implementing additional measures. Key government agencies involved include the MIAA, Department of Transportation (DOTr), Philippine National Police-Aviation Security Group (PNP-AVSEGROUP), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Bureau of Customs (BOC), Bureau of Immigration (BI), and Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ). The joint effort aims to ensure adequate manpower and resources are in place to accommodate the increased passenger traffic.
In an effort to streamline the check-in process, NNIC is collaborating with airline companies to encourage early opening of check-in counters, allowing passengers more time to check in and reducing queuing times during peak hours. A comprehensive review of ground handling and airline equipment deployment is underway to ensure sufficient serviceable equipment is available for efficient baggage and passenger flow.
Additionally, NNIC is in discussions with transportation service providers to increase vehicle availability, making it easier for passengers to access and depart from the airport. Extra parking spaces at Terminal 3 will also be opened to alleviate traffic congestion around NAIA.
Passengers are advised to arrive early to allow sufficient time for security checks, check-in, and immigration procedures. Staying informed about travel guidelines and cooperating with airport staff will contribute to a hassle-free experience during this busy travel season.
