Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Eli M. Remolona, Jr. was honored with an “A-” rating by Global Finance Magazine in its 2024 Central Banker Report Cards, recognizing his leadership and the BSP’s performance over the past year.
Governor Remolona was one of 25 central bank heads worldwide to receive top marks for their management of inflation control, economic growth, currency stability, and interest rate policies. He was presented the award by Global Financefounder and editorial director Joseph Giarraputo in a ceremony held on 26 October 2024, in Washington, D.C.
In accepting the award, Governor Remolona expressed his gratitude, saying, “Central banking is a tough job, but we have many sources of inspiration, foremost of which are my fellow Filipinos, who deserve all we can do to provide the foundation for their economic well-being.”
The Global Finance recognition highlights the significant strides made by the BSP under Governor Remolona’s leadership, underscoring his commitment to fostering a stable and resilient Philippine economy.
