The storm’s center winds are at 100 kph, with gusts reaching 125 kph—wind speeds that could intensify as Nika remains over water. Storm-force winds extend 300 km from the center. “Regardless of the landfall point’s position, it must be emphasized that hazards may still be experienced in areas outside the landfall point or within the forecast confidence cone,” says PAGASA.
