MOVE IT honored its standout rider-partners at the MOVE IT Day 2024 event, where 16 exceptional riders were recognized with the prestigious Papugay Awards for their dedication and resilience in providing safe, reliable, and quality service. The ceremony, held at the PhilSports Arena, marked the highlight of MOVE IT’s year-end celebration, bringing together thousands of riders and their families for a day of entertainment, activities, and recognition.
MOVE IT general manager, Wayne Jacinto, praised the awardees for their unwavering commitment, emphasizing the importance of the values of integrity, respect, and safety in the company’s operations. To qualify for the Papugay Awards, riders must excel in booking completion rates, high-star ratings, safe driving practices, and receive outstanding passenger feedback.
Among the awardees were Alamat rider Cyrus Panopio, 38, who balances his job with family duties and a small business, and Benjie Boladas Bechayda, 33, who transitioned from a security guard to a full-time MOVE IT rider, significantly improving his family’s financial situation. Other honorees like Merry Ann Paz and Merlani Lacson highlighted the platform’s role in supporting flexible and adaptable livelihoods for riders, with each sharing inspiring stories of personal growth and family empowerment.
The event also featured entertainment such as live comedy, a rock concert, and motorcycle maintenance services, underscoring MOVE IT’s commitment to its riders’ welfare. In closing, Jacinto extended heartfelt thanks to the MOVE IT community, acknowledging that their hard work and dedication are key to the company’s success.
“As we strive to meet the needs of commuters, your hard work makes every ride safer and more reliable,” Jacinto said. “Thank you for being part of our journey in reaching your dreams.”
