Converge helps power SEC’s digital transformation, enhancing government efficiency

Converge ICT Solutions, through its parent company ComClark Network and Technology Corp., has earned recognition from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for its pivotal role in modernizing government services. The SEC commended Converge for its innovative digital platform, which serves as the agency’s primary system for processing data from over 500,000 corporations across the country.

This recognition highlights the importance of Converge’s work in improving the ease of doing business with the government, particularly in the realm of online document submission. According to ComClark chief operations officer Benedicto Bulatao, the system was initially introduced during the pandemic to reduce in-person contact. However, its benefits have continued to resonate in the post-pandemic era, setting a new standard for government-private sector transactions.

“We are pleased to be recognized by the SEC for our contribution to improving business processes,” Bulatao said. “What started as a necessity during the height of the pandemic has now become an essential tool that enhances transparency, efficiency, and convenience for both businesses and the government.”

The platform, known as the Company Investments and Financial Statistics System (CiFSS), allows corporations to submit their quarterly and yearly reports, such as the General Information Sheets (GIS), General Form of Financial Statements (GFFS), and Special Form of Financial Statements (SFFS), via an online portal. This solution was developed in collaboration with Fortis Technologies Corporation, combining Converge’s expertise in internet infrastructure with Fortis’ technological know-how.

The implementation of CiFSS is a cornerstone of the SEC’s digitalization agenda, aiming to streamline operations, improve transparency, and foster better communication with the private sector. Since its launch in 2021, the system has significantly reduced the need for face-to-face interactions, promoting safer and more efficient reporting for businesses.

As a leader in providing information and communications technology (ICT) solutions, ComClark, through Converge, continues to drive innovation in government services, setting a benchmark for digital transformation in the Philippines.
