NAIA boosts operations with new vehicles to enhance passenger experience

Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is set to improve passenger services with the introduction of new vehicles aimed at boosting operational efficiency and safety. Managed by New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC), the airport has added a range of essential vehicles to its fleet, directly benefiting travelers.

The new additions include two advanced ambulances, fully equipped with modern medical tools and staffed by trained paramedics. These will ensure swift medical assistance is readily available in emergencies, enhancing passenger safety.

Additionally, three new “follow-me” vehicles have been deployed to guide aircraft to their designated parking spots more quickly, minimizing taxi time and contributing to more efficient operations. This streamlining helps to avoid delays, making travel smoother for everyone.

For passengers transferring between terminals, four inter-terminal coasters have been introduced. These provide a more comfortable, efficient means of moving airside, especially for those with connecting flights or mobility challenges.

“These vehicles are vital in supporting NAIA’s operations and improving passenger experience,” said Ramon S. Ang, president of NNIC. “They complement our existing fleet and reinforce our commitment to providing a seamless and reliable airport experience.”

The upgrades come amid a record-breaking year for NAIA, which welcomed 50.1 million passengers in 2024—a 10.43 percent rise from the previous year. The new vehicles will help maintain smooth operations during peak times and emergencies while ensuring high service standards.

This initiative is part of NNIC’s broader efforts to modernize NAIA and elevate it to world-class standards, promising a safer and more comfortable experience for all passengers.
