    Air India eyes direct PH – India flights

    The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) recently hosted a meeting with Air India executives that signaled the airline’s intent to establish direct flights between the Philippines and India. Held at the CAAP’s Central Office in Pasay City, the discussions centered on enhancing air connectivity between the two nations, fostering stronger bilateral relations and opening new opportunities for trade and tourism.

    Key elements of the meeting included an outline of the required documentation, technical specifications, and procedural frameworks necessary for securing flight approvals. Discussions also focused on proposed routes, flight frequencies, and logistical considerations to ensure an efficient approval process.

    CAAP director general Manuel Antonio Tamayo, emphasized the agency’s commitment to facilitating the process while upholding the highest safety and operational standards. Both Air India and CAAP officials expressed optimism about the economic and cultural advantages of direct air links, anticipating increased passenger demand and expanded business opportunities. 

    This development promises to stimulate greater economic engagement and deepen ties between the Philippines and India.
