Topline Hi Tech and Synergy Corp., an affiliate of Top Line Business Development Corp., has partnered with the Provincial Government of Aklan to launch a smart port system at Boracay’s Caticlan and Cagban ports. This initiative, which went live on Tuesday, February 18, aims to streamline the ticketing process and enhance port management with real-time data and security features.
Through a unified automated ticketing system, the new system will consolidate terminal, environmental, and boat fees into a single automated transaction, eliminating the need for multiple queues. Tourists can conveniently book and pay for their transit in advance via the Topline Travel App, pre-booking link, or at automated kiosks and ticketing booths on-site. The system supports cashless payments, and upon completion, a QR code is generated for boarding.
Eugene Erik Lim, president and chief executive officer of Topline Hi Tech, said the partnership will improve trips to Boracay, the country’s main tourism draw. “Our Smart Port System makes accessing Boracay easier by removing the traditional hassles of travel, allowing visitors to focus on enjoying the island,” he said.
Governor Jose Enrique Miraflores praised the initiative, calling it a “game-changer” for tourism in Boracay, enhancing efficiency and fostering sustainable growth.
The first phase of the Smart Port System will be launched in April 2025, in time for the summer influx of tourists.
