Metrobank’s Trust Banking Group has earned top honors at the CFA Society Philippines’ 10th Annual Best Managed Funds of the Year Awards for 2025. The bank was recognized for its outstanding performance in managing peso- and dollar-denominated unit investment trust funds (UITFs), reflecting its commitment to delivering high returns for investors.
The Vision 2025 awards spotlighted fund managers who demonstrated excellence in generating the highest risk-adjusted returns from 2020 to 2024. This year, new categories were introduced for global feeder funds, local money markets, and thematic funds.
Metrobank was awarded for its three high-performing UITFs:
- Metro High Dividend Yield Unit Paying Fund in the Equity Funds category
- Metro$ US Investment Grade Corporate Bond Feeder Fund in the Global Fixed Income Feeder Fund category
- Metro$ Short Term Bond Fund in the Intermediate Term Bond Funds category, using pure FVPL valuation
Angelica Reyes, Metrobank trust banking group head, expressed pride in the recognition, emphasizing the bank’s dedication to reliable client service. Cristina Gabaldon, head of investment management, thanked CFA Philippines and promised continued excellence in portfolio management.
A total of 16 investment houses and trust institutions participated in the awards, with 170 qualified funds across multiple categories evaluated by the CFAP Fund of the Year Committee.
