PLDT Global expands Middle East operations

PLDT Global Corporation, the international arm of PLDT Inc., has significantly expanded its operations in the Middle East to enhance connectivity, financial services, and digital empowerment for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and businesses. The expansion includes the growth of Tindahan ni Bossing (TinBo), an app and digital platform tailored to address the evolving needs of OFWs.

TinBo, already popular in the Middle East, offers services such as mobile top-ups, entertainment, food delivery, health consultations, and bills payments, ensuring OFWs stay connected and manage their daily lives with ease.

Albert V. Villa-Real, president and CEO of PLDT Global, emphasized the company’s dedication to providing reliable digital solutions to Filipinos abroad, helping them maintain strong ties with their families in the Philippines.

PLDT Global has also extended strategic partnerships in the region. The company renewed its collaboration with Saudi Arabia’s STC Group to improve international voice services, leveraging advanced AI and network security. In Bahrain, PLDT Global has teamed up with stc Pay Bahrain, offering digital financial services and allowing Filipinos to manage finances and support their families through a single app. Additionally, a new partnership with STC Bank in Saudi Arabia has integrated secure payment options on the TinBo platform.

This expansion underscores PLDT Global’s commitment to the growing number of Filipino workers in the Middle East, with over one million land-based OFWs deployed in the region as of 2024. The initiative aligns with the Philippine government’s goals and Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to deploy more Filipinos in the Kingdom.

PLDT Global’s Middle East growth reflects its broader efforts to empower OFWs through reliable and innovative digital solutions that improve both their professional and personal lives.
