After a long encore break, Tanduay is tuning up for a high-volume return to the live music circuit—this time with a broader sound and a wider map.
The liquor giant is reviving its flagship concert series, Tanduay First Five, betting on the magnetic pull of live experiences to reconnect with Filipino audiences across key regional hubs.
Kicking off a multi-city run, the series brings together a deliberately eclectic roster: rock mainstays Parokya ni Edgar and Kamikazee share the bill with pop hitmaker Zack Tabudlo, rap powerhouse Flow G, and alt-pop favorites December Avenue. It’s a lineup that mirrors the increasingly fluid tastes of OPM listeners—where playlists, not genres, rule.
The tour opens May 15 at Gaisano Capital Mall Open Grounds, moves to SM Seaside City Cebu Concert Grounds on May 29, and wraps June 26 at Davao Crocodile Park & Zoo.
The regional focus is strategic: instead of centering on Metro Manila, Tanduay is tapping into deeply rooted fan communities in the Visayas and Mindanao—markets often underserved yet highly responsive to live events.
For Edzel Ty, Tanduay’s digital brand manager, the comeback is more than a tour—it’s a cultural reset. The brand, long embedded in Filipino social life, is leaning into music as a shared language. The revival also answers years of clamor from fans who remember the series’ earlier run, last staged in 2013, when it was synonymous with rock dominance.
This time, the tone is different. By embracing pop hooks and hip-hop beats alongside guitar-driven anthems, Tanduay isn’t just replaying old hits—it’s remixing its identity for a new generation.
