DICT chief denies resignation rumors

DICT Secretary Henry Aguda on Tuesday denied rumors that he had resigned from his post, calling the reports false and misleading.

Aguda said the rumors were another example of fake news being used to create confusion and weaken public trust. He stressed that the Department of Information and Communications Technology remains committed to fighting disinformation.

He added that despite the “attacks,” the agency will continue pushing its digital transformation programs, including improving internet connectivity and expanding digital services.

Aguda also said he continues to serve under the administration and remains committed to carrying out the DICT’s mandate.
