The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines has completed its India Mega Familiarization Tour, aimed at promoting the Philippines as a top leisure and MICE destination for Indian travelers.
Thirty Indian travel agents, sponsored by Air India, joined the tour from key cities across India, including Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad.
The delegates were divided into two groups. One group visited Clark, Boracay, and Manila, experiencing the country’s food, beaches, and city attractions. The second group explored Cebu, Bohol, and Manila, visiting historical sites, islands, and cultural destinations.
The tour ended with a business-to-business networking session on April 13 at the Grand Westside Hotel in Manila, where Indian delegates met with 54 Philippine tourism sellers, including hotels, resorts, and travel operators.
TPB Chief Operating Officer Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles said the program helps Indian travel agents better understand and promote the Philippines as a business and leisure destination.
The initiative supports the Philippines and India’s tourism cooperation agreement for 2025 to 2028, signed during President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s visit to India in August 2025.
India remains a key market for Philippine tourism. Indian tourist arrivals reached 104,994 in 2025, up 33.64 percent from 2024, helped by the Philippines’ visa-free entry policy for Indian nationals introduced in June 2025.
The government and tourism industry are also working to improve air connectivity and Indian-friendly services. Air India increased its Delhi-Manila flights from five times weekly to daily beginning October 2025.
