Ascenda, Ayala Land’s 204-hectare mixed-use estate in Toril, Davao City, has marked a key milestone in its development with the opening of McDonald’s Ascenda, the estate’s first commercial locator along the Maharlika Highway.
The project, developed through a partnership between Ayala Land and Anflo Management and Investment Corp. (Anflocor), is being positioned as a new growth center in southern Davao, amid expanding infrastructure projects and rising commercial activity in the area.
“We are pleased to welcome McDonald’s as Ascenda’s first business locator. This opening is a meaningful first step in building a more complete and convenient community for Toril,” said Gale Evaristo, Mindanao estate manager for Ayala Land Estates.
The new branch is McDonald’s 24th store in Davao City and its second in Toril, reflecting growing investor and business confidence in the district. The opening also signals the start of broader commercial operations within the estate as Ayala Land continues to strengthen its presence in Mindanao.
McDonald’s Ascenda features the company’s “Green & Good” sustainability initiatives, including eco-panels, LED lighting, water-efficient fixtures, and energy-saving cooling systems. The branch also supports inclusive employment by providing opportunities for senior citizens.
“We hope this store will not only serve the Toril community but also become a place where people feel welcomed and valued,” said Margot Torres, managing director of McDonald’s Philippines.
Ayala Land said major infrastructure developments, including the Davao Bypass Road and Davao Coastal Road projects, are expected to improve connectivity and accelerate Toril’s emergence as a new urban and commercial hub in Davao City.
