PAL, Qatar Airways expand partnership to boost Philippines–Europe travel links and loyalty benefits

The Philippine Airlines and Qatar Airways have expanded their strategic partnership to make travel between the Philippines, the Middle East, and Europe more seamless starting June 1, 2026.

Under the expanded codeshare agreement, PAL will place its “PR” code on Qatar Airways flights from Manila, Cebu, Clark, and Davao to Doha. From there, passengers can easily connect onward to over 20 major European cities such as Paris, Rome, and Frankfurt through Hamad International Airport.

In return, Qatar Airways will place its “QR” code on PAL’s domestic flights, improving travel within the Philippines. This means international passengers arriving in Manila and Cebu can more easily reach tourist destinations like Boracay (Caticlan) and Puerto Princesa.

The partnership also extends to loyalty programs. Qatar Airways’ Privilege Club and PAL’s Mabuhay Miles will now be linked, allowing members to earn and use points across both airlines’ global networks. This gives travelers more options to redeem rewards for flights, upgrades, and lifestyle perks across Asia-Pacific, Europe, Africa, and beyond.

The airlines say the move strengthens their global reach while improving convenience for passengers, especially those connecting between Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.

Both carriers also highlighted their strong operational performance, with PAL recognized as Asia-Pacific’s most punctual airline for 2025, and Qatar Airways ranked among the world’s best airlines and recognized for top reliability by aviation analytics firm Cirium.

The expanded partnership is expected to improve international connectivity for Filipino travelers, boost tourism links, and make it easier and more rewarding to travel between the Philippines and major global destinations through a single, more integrated airline network.
