Security Bank announced Monday that John Cary Ong will leave his post as head of the wholesale banking segment. Ong was recognized for his contributions to growing the bank’s wholesale business, with president and CEO Victor Lee thanking him for his leadership and wishing him success in future plans.
During the transition, Lee will directly oversee the segment, working alongside senior leaders from corporate, commercial, and alliance banking, as well as the head of Security Bank Capital. The bank assured clients and stakeholders of seamless operations and continued growth momentum, noting wholesale banking remains a core business priority. Backed by partner and shareholder MUFG, Security Bank said it stays well-placed to pursue opportunities and deliver long-term value.
One of the country’s top universal banks with P1.2 trillion in assets as of March 2026, Security Bank operates 390 branches nationwide. It holds a 20 percent strategic investment from MUFG and has earned multiple industry awards for private banking, customer service, and sustainability performance this year.
