NGCP cuts transmission rates for June bills, average down 9.33%

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) announced on Monday lower overall transmission rates that will appear in consumers’ June 2026 electricity bills.

Average transmission charges dropped 9.33 percent to P1.4492 per kilowatt-hour (kWh), from P1.5983 per kWh in the previous billing period in April. The reduction comes from lower rates for both transmission wheeling and ancillary services.

Wheeling rates — the charge for delivering power — fell 6.99 percent, from P0.6028 to P0.5607 per kWh. Ancillary services rates, which cover costs to keep the grid stable during supply-demand shifts, went down 10.73 percent, from P0.8088 to P0.7220 per kWh.

NGCP explained that for the June bills, its core delivery charge is just 56 centavos per kWh. It noted its revenues are capped and regulated by the Energy Regulatory Commission.

NGCP is the private firm tasked to operate, maintain, and expand the country’s power grid.
